Jackie Nuñez is again a part of Lightning Star EntertainmentShe currently has a video podcast on Remember Then Radio, “It’s a Latin Thing”. 

She was Director of Advertising and Marketing for Gotham Radio a Global internet radio station whose contents are talk shows, comedy, and independent music.

 

Jackie has joined Gotham Radio as of early 2011. From a young age, Jackie started in the music industry working alongside her father Jose Maldonado drawing up contracts, and bookings for community dances, events, and nightclubs. In the late 1980s, Jackie pursued an interest in the recording industry and was employed at two major recording studios Variety Recording (owners Warren Smith and Fred Vargas) and Sound Ideas then bought out by the Latin entrepreneur Raul Alarcon who chartered the studio to Karen Records owner Bienvenido Rodriguez and the Latin sensation singer Juan Luis Guerra (440). Jackie sold studio time assisted in editing sessions, booked musicians, assisted sound engineers, and promoted the studio to acquire new business for both studios. In addition, Jackie Nunez focused on other projects and ventured into TV/Film production. Jackie freelanced for CNN and Spanish Radio writing commercial copy and news editing freelance while in attendance at the Center for the Media Arts in the late 80’s early 90’s for Radio Broadcasting and Television Production.

 

Jackie Nunez traveled and road-managed with many well-known Latin and Jazz artists while working with Landy Soba Management. She managed and worked with many artists from Ralph Mercado Management. Such artists are Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Hector Lavoe, Jose Alberto, El Gran Combo, Eddie Palmieri, Eddie Santiago, Junior Gonzalez, Louie Ramirez, and many Latin greats. Jackie managed Actors and she acquired auditions and parts for movies, theater performances, and shows for singers and musicians with Susan Rybin at the Rybin Talent Agency. Jackie has cast many people for commercials, theatrical, movies, and musical performances. Jackie has also worked on jingles (commercials) and written commercial copy for 30-second spots and 60-second. spots for radio. Jackie has appeared as an extra on several movies and TV series such as Godzilla, and Law & Order.

 

Jackie Nunez worked in Marketing and Advertising for Univision, WXTV Channel 41 in the Sales department as the Assistant Manager to the Director of New Business. There she created presentations with qualitative material to acquire new business for the station. She researched and sold to advertisers and created the concept of the importance of advertising in the Hispanic Market. Through research and obtaining information on certain demographics was able to successfully deliver her concept and acquire the business for the station. She produced and wrote shows for many radio show hosts.

 

Jackie later accepted an offer to become an Executive in Sales at Noticias 1380 AM station and then thereafter to Radio Unica, 1680 AM talk radio network station. At both stations, Jackie sold air time, wrote and produced news segments, and commercial copy, and promoted the stations in different Latin Markets. In Radio Unica, 1680 AM she predominantly sold sports, Soccer.

 

Jackie was able to obtain viable clients such as Bacardi, Phillip Morris, Chivas Regal, Readers Digest, Kraft, Walmart, Kmart, JP Morgan Chase, Procter and Gamble, Colgate Palmolive, Coca-Cola, Time Warner, Cablevision, and many other sponsors to the list. Jackie has created innovative concepts to “create the need” for advertisers and the importance of advertising on major mediums such as radio, television, print, and ultimately Internet radio.

 

Jackie Nunez produced events to promote health issues by health fairs, and charitable events for different causes and worked diligently in building homes (construction) for the low-income housing known as Habitat for Humanity. She currently assists the elderly and takes on projects to help repair homes for many disabled and elderly people.

 

Jackie Nunez is well known within the Latin Market and has a show on Gotham Radio called the “EL” Show (Entertainment Latino) a platform where she interviews many different artists in the Entertainment industry such as Actors, Musicians, Singers, Authors and talks about interesting issues that affect Latinos and non-Latinos alike.

 

Jackie Nunez emanates diversity in music, production, and marketing. She is currently writing a book and it will be published soon!

Gail Interviews Singer Song Writer Michael DelGuidice. Man whom Billy Joel heard one day singing and playing a musical instrument and he thought that someone was playing his record. When told it was a singer-songwriter he couldn't believe it. He hired him of course. DelGuidice is now well known for playing Billy Joel songs. Also singing Samantha Delguidice his daughter. Aimee Holtzman of Charity RockCanRoll is also on show.

The show is with inspirational musician Jerome "City" Smith, a minister and humanitarian. Jerome plays all types of music and can be seen in concerts all over Long Island.

Music and Marketing Legend Ron Alexenburg, the man who signed Michael Jackson right after Motown and helped produce the Album "Thriller" discusses his career and Gail lets us know the man behind the legend. Mr. Alexenburg introduces his teen singing sensation Tina DeCara.
